Random lines of the engraving being missed when printing.

MPX-70/MPX-80 Banding

The problem may be 'banding', where the pin doesn't strike/impact on every line - it seems to miss a line of dots from the engraved picture.

This can happen when the small pin gets stuck and cannot strike the metal.

This can be caused by dust or engraving residue getting caught in the rubber seals of the pins.

To fix this you should clean the area of the engraving head where the pins are. You should do this carefully and gently with a small brush.

You could also jolt the pins into working properly by changing the pin used in the MPX-70 Head Manager.
